    Attention: Wren Readers

    We want you to

This October, please send in a photo of YOU reading one of your FAVORITE books, magazine, comic books, poems, or whatever you like to read. Get creative - surprise us with an unusual location or reading buddy. Some ideas: reading with a pet, reading on a pool floatie, reading at the dentist, reading upside down. GET SILLY!

Photo submissions are due by October 31.

We'll take a school-wide VOTE for the most creative and inspiring photo on November 6. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place winners.

See the attached flyer for more information.

Wren Avenue Elementary: School of the Arts is the MDUSD visual and performing arts magnet school. We are creating a collaborative community that builds upon skills students will need as they prepare for colleges and careers.

Wren Avenue Elementary: School of the Arts is developing an integrated MDUSD regional arts magnet program comprised of high academic expectations through common core standards via the visual or performing arts. The purpose is to provide an artistic avenue for students to fulfill their academic requirements, and to provide them with intensive in-depth training in their arts, English language development, math, and the use of technology.

Parent and community involvement is highly encouraged. Parents are invited to participate in all aspects of the program.
